Govt cuts petrol prices, raises diesel prices

The government has decreased the price of petrol by 66 paise per litre and increased the high-speed diesel (HSD) price by 52 paise, according to a Petroleum Division notification issued on Tuesday.

The price of petrol has decreased from Rs398.96 to Rs398.30 per litre, while diesel has been increased from Rs395.72 to Rs396.24 per litre.

The revised prices will take effect from October 10 to 12 under the federal government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.

The Petroleum Division said the revision was based on changes in the international market, including Platts rates, premiums and incidentals.
