12-year-old domestic worker dies after alleged torture in Sheikhupura
A 12-year-old domestic worker, Zainab, died allegedly after being subjected to torture at a house in Sheikhupura, with her family accusing the employer’s wife of beating the girl with sticks and shoe soles.
Police said the incident took place on Khalid Road, where Zainab had been working as a domestic worker at the house of a man named Rafiqat.
According to her family, Zainab had been working at the house for the past 18 months. They alleged that the woman of the house subjected her to severe physical violence, resulting in her death.
Police arrested Rafiqat in connection with the incident, according to officials.
Zainab’s body was shifted to a hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
