Wanted militant commander killed in Balochistan operation
A wanted militant commander, Adil Shah, was killed during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Qila Saifullah district, security sources said on Sunday.
The commander, who had been affiliated with the India-backed Fitna Al Khawarij terrorist group since December 2020, was involved in attacks on security forces, kidnapping for ransom and extortion.
He was also involved in helping non-local militants establish permanent residences in Zhob, Sherani and Shaban areas of Balochistan.
The sources said that Adil Shah had been involved in attacks and extortion linked to kidnapping for ransom since 2022 and 2023 and handled the group’s finances.
Nineteen cases had been registered against him in anti-terrorism courts, and a bounty of Rs2.5 million had been placed on his head.
The operation was conducted as part of the ongoing Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3 in Balochistan, the sources said, adding that operations would continue until the last militant was eliminated.
