Heidi Klum’s Halloween costume sparks Batman sequel villain speculation

An Instagram post showing the making of Heidi Klum’s Halloween costume has sparked speculation about the villains in Robert Pattinson’s upcoming film, The Batman: Part II, after fans spotted objects they believe could be linked to characters from the DC Comics universe.

The supermodel dressed as a giant, severed hand for Halloween, complete with replicas of her wedding rings. However, behind-the-scenes images of the costume’s creation appeared to show props associated with several Batman villains.

The objects were spotted in what was reportedly the workspace of special effects makeup artist Mike Marino, who created Klum’s costume and previously worked on 2022’s The Batman and its HBO spin-off, The Penguin.

One of the images showed a facial cast that some fans said resembled actor Brian Tyree Henry with a disfigured lip.

This led to speculation that it could be linked to Harvey Dent, also known as Two-Face, a former Gotham City district attorney whose face was disfigured in an attack.

Another visible object was a box labelled “Zsasz”, referring to Victor Zsasz, a serial killer in the Batman comics who carves tally marks into his skin for each person he kills.

The post has also renewed speculation about Sebastian Stan’s role in the sequel. Entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider reported in June that Stan would play Zsasz, while Henry would portray Harvey Dent. Neither casting claim has been officially confirmed.

A third box labelled “Owl 3” prompted fans to speculate about a possible connection to the Court of Owls, a secret society that secretly influences Gotham City in DC Comics.

Marino confirmed his involvement in The Batman: Part II in an October interview with W Magazine, saying he was excited to work on the film and describing its makeup work as a dream opportunity.

However, none of the objects spotted in the Halloween post has been confirmed as belonging to the sequel. There is also no indication that the items were deliberately included as clues about the film.

Director Matt Reeves confirmed Henry and Stan’s involvement in the sequel in May but did not disclose their characters. Variety previously reported that Stan was set to play Harvey Dent.

Stan also discussed the film on the Happy Sad Confused podcast in October, saying he was excited about taking on a role that felt different from his previous work.

The Batman: Part II is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on February 18, 2028. The film was initially set for release in October 2025 but was delayed following Hollywood strikes.

Production was also temporarily halted last month as Reeves stepped away for personal reasons—the original The Batman was released in March 2022.
