Four militants killed, one soldier martyred in Dera Ismail Khan: ISPR

Security forces killed four terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Maddi area of Dera Ismail Khan District, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.

The operation, launched on April 16, followed confirmed intelligence about the presence of militants in the region. A fierce exchange of fire ensued, resulting in the deaths of all four terrorists, who were reportedly linked to multiple attacks in the area.

Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the site, according to the ISPR.

During the firefight, Sepoy Basit Siddique, 23, from Attock District, embraced martyrdom. The ISPR praised his bravery, stating, “Having fought gallantly, [he] paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced shahadat.”

A sanitisation operation is currently underway to eliminate any remaining threats in the area.

“Security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” the statement concluded.
