Foreign woman records statement in Lahore alleged gang rape case

The foreign woman who is the alleged victim of a gang rape in Lahore has recorded her statement before a magistrate under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, sources said on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the woman accused three men of allegedly assaulting her, threatening her and withholding her belongings, the sources added.

According to court records, the foreign woman was produced before Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Sagheer by the investigating officer, where her statement was recorded.

The court asked the woman identified as Diana about her name and the reason for her appearance.

The woman responded that she knew why she had been brought before the court and expressed her willingness to record a statement under Section 164.

The court informed her that the statement could later be used as evidence against her.

Despite being made aware of this, Diana insisted on recording her statement.

In her statement, Diana said she arrived in Islamabad from Istanbul on September 13 and stayed in Faisalabad for five days before travelling to Lahore.

She said she had planned to visit Skardu but was travelling alone, so she messaged Nimra and Muskan to meet her in Lahore.

Diana said she went alone to a cafe at around 11pm, where Muskan approached her and told her that Nimra was waiting for them.

According to Diana, a white car arrived at around 2am carrying two men, identified as Ahmed and Mohsin.

She said she went with the men to an apartment, where they had food. After some time, two more men arrived, one of whom was identified as Ali Zain.

Diana said Nimra took Rs20,000 to Rs30,000 from Mohsin and told her that the money was for a party. She said she told them that she did not need money or alcohol.

According to the woman, Mohsin tried to touch her and later locked her in a separate room.

Diana said that when she asked about Nimra and Muskan, she was told that both women had left.

According to her statement, Diana asked to leave but was told she could not because her friend had taken the money.

She said she even offered to pay Rs30,000, but Ali Zain allegedly threatened and blackmailed her.

Diana alleged that she was forced to drink alcohol and was told she would be allowed to leave afterwards.

She alleged that Mohsin, Ahmed and Ali Zain sexually assaulted her.

Diana was later put into a car. She said that Mohsin was driving, Ahmed was also in the vehicle, while Ali Zain was sitting beside her.

The woman said her bag contained Rs200,000 in cash, an iPhone 13 Pro Max and a Redmi mobile phone.

However, she alleged that the men refused to return the bag despite her repeated requests.

She said she was told that her belongings would be returned if she did not complain to the police.

Diana said she told them she was leaving and would later decide to tell the police everything.

The woman said Ahmed and Ali Zain subsequently opened the car door and pushed her out.

Diana said she asked people nearby to call the police emergency number 15.

The people helped her, after which police arrived at the scene, she stated.
