Pakistan carries out air strikes on militant hideouts in Afghanistan

Pakistan has carried out well-planned and calibrated air strikes against hideouts and safe havens of militants inside Afghanistan as part of the ongoing Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, the Information Ministry said on Thursday.

The ministry said the strikes were conducted against “Fitna Al Khwarij and Fitna Al Hindustan, killing multiple terrorists.”

In a post on X, the ministry said the strikes were conducted on the basis of credible intelligence, precisely targeted two separate militant locations, killing 22 militants and destroying large quantities of weapons and ammunition stored at the sites.

The ministry said that Pakistan had always worked to promote peace and stability in the region, but the protection and security of its citizens remained its top priority.

The statement expressed concern that Afghanistan continued to serve as a hub for terrorism, saying Afghan territory remained the primary source of threats facing Pakistan.

It said the operation targeted only militant strongholds and that maximum precaution was taken to avoid civilian casualties or damage to unrelated property and to ensure “no collateral damage”.

The statement said that Operation Ghazab lil-Haq would continue with full force under the government’s vision of Azm-e-Istehkam to combat terrorism.

Our relentless Counter Terrorism campaign Ghazab-lil Haq, under the vision “Azm-e-Istehkam,” by the security forces and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country, the statement added.
