India set Pakistan 212-run target in Asian Games cricket final

India set Pakistan a 212-run target in the Asian Games cricket final in Nishin, Japan, on Saturday.

India captain Shreyas Iyer opted to bat after winning the toss in the Asian Games men’s cricket gold medal match. The two captains did not shake hands before the match.

Tilak Varma’s 51 runs off 22 balls and Shivam Dube’s 27 off 15 helped India reach 200 milestone.

Earlier, Abhishek Sharma scored 61 off 28 balls and set the tone for India.

After 20 overs, India made 211 for the loss of six wickets.

Pakistan’s fielding was not up to the mark, and they dropped a couple of chances while a run-out chance was also missed.

Pakistan made one change to its playing XI, with Saad Masood replacing Wasim Junior.

Pakistan’s lineup includes Sahibzada Farhan, Muaz Sadaqat, Saim Ayub, Usman Khan, Hasan Nawaz, Abdul Samad, Arafat Minhas, Ahmed Daniyal, Abrar Ahmed, Sufiyan Muqeem and Saad Masood.

India made no changes to its playing XI for the final.
