Pakistan students seeking foreign medical admission exempted from MDCAT

According to an official public notice issued by PM&DC on Monday, Pakistani students seeking admission to medical or dental institutions abroad will no longer be required to pass the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) as a mandatory prerequisite.

The decision was approved by the Council during its meeting held on September 14, 2026.

The notice clarified that passing the MDCAT would not be mandatory for Pakistani students seeking admission to foreign medical and dental institutions.

The decision is expected to facilitate Pakistani students planning to pursue medical and dental education abroad by removing the MDCAT as a prerequisite for foreign admission.

PM&DC issued the clarification in response to requirements concerning the admission of Pakistani students to medical and dental institutions outside the country.
