Pakistan open ODI tri-series against Sri Lanka on Sunday
Pakistan will open the ODI tri-nation series against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi on Sunday, as the hosts step up preparations for the six-match tournament also featuring England.
The opening match will begin at 1pm at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
The three teams will play six league matches, with the final scheduled for October 31.
The first three matches will be held in Rawalpindi, while the remaining three, including the final, will take place in Lahore.
Pakistan, led by Shaheen Shah Afridi, began preparations on Thursday with a three-hour training session under head coach Mike Hesson and the coaching staff, including batting coach Mike Smith, bowling coach Shaun Tait and fielding coach Mansoor Amjad.
The 16-member squad took part in batting and bowling drills, with pacers Shaheen, Haris Rauf, Razaullah, Faheem Ashraf and Naseem Shah training under Tait’s supervision.
Spinners Shadab Khan, Abrar Ahmed, Arafat Minhas and Sufyan Moqim also bowled extended spells in the nets.
Pakistan will face Sri Lanka on October 18 and England on October 20 in Rawalpindi.
The team will then play England on October 25 and Sri Lanka on October 27 in Lahore.
