Mawra Hocane and Ameer Gilani welcome baby boy, name him Azmar

Pakistani actors Mawra Hocane and Ameer Gilani have welcomed a baby boy, sharing his name and a heartfelt announcement with fans on social media.

Ameer shared the news on Instagram, posting a hospital video in which he was seen reciting a prayer for his newborn son.

In his caption, Ameer revealed that the baby’s name, Azmar, means “lion”. He described his son as “the king of our jungle, our pride, our littlest most precious treasure” and expressed gratitude with the words “Alhamdulillah”.

The post also featured a Quranic verse: “And your Lord will surely give you, and you will be content.”

Mawra shared the announcement on her Instagram Story, saying the couple had finally decided to reveal their little secret to the world.

Fans congratulated the couple, while some praised their decision to keep the news private until the baby’s arrival. One user commented, “No pregnancy announcement, no gender reveal, direct the baby, love ittt”.

Mawra and Ameer have earned a following through their on-screen pairing in Pakistani dramas, including Sabaat and Neem. Their performances together attracted attention from viewers.

The actors announced their marriage in February 2025, following considerable interest in their relationship.

Mawra has appeared in television dramas such as Sammi, Sabaat and Qissa Meherbano Ka, as well as the Bollywood film Sanam Teri Kasam. Ameer is known for dramas including Sabaat, Neem and Very Filmy.
