Afghan Taliban target civilians in Angoor Adda; Pakistan Army hits back
One civilian was killed, and five members of the same family were injured after Afghan Taliban forces shelled a residential area in Angoor Adda, South Waziristan, prompting a swift retaliatory response from the Pakistan Army, security sources said on Tuesday.
According to the sources, the Afghan Taliban regime targeted civilian areas along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, with a shell striking a residential house in Angoor Adda. The attack killed one civilian and injured five other members of the family.
The targeting of innocent civilians sparked widespread anger among local residents, the sources said, condemning the attack as an act of aggression against Pakistan’s civilian population.
Pakistan Army delivers strong response
Security sources said Pakistani forces responded immediately and forcefully to the Afghan Taliban’s hostile action. The retaliatory operation reportedly destroyed multiple Afghan security posts along the border.
The sources described the shelling as another provocative act by the Afghan Taliban regime, alleging that its forces had launched unprovoked attacks on civilian areas.
They said the Pakistan Army was responding effectively to the aggression and remained fully prepared to thwart any further hostile action.
Pakistani forces remain on high alert
Security sources emphasised that Pakistan Army personnel deployed along the border remained fully operational and vigilant to defend the country against any aggression.
They added that the response to the attack on civilians was continuing, underscoring Pakistan’s resolve to protect its citizens and territorial integrity.
The reported incident has heightened tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, with the shelling of a residential area raising fresh concerns about the safety of civilians in border communities.
