Sindh Cabinet extends Mir Raza Ali judicial commission’s tenure
The Sindh Cabinet on Thursday approved an extension in the tenure of the judicial commission constituted to monitor the Mir Raza Ali murder case investigation.
The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, with the commission’s tenure extended until October 15.
The cabinet was briefed that the commission had made significant progress and recorded statements from dozens of witnesses.
A spokesperson for the chief minister said the commission had been given additional time to complete its investigation and finalise its recommendations.
The notification for the formation of the judicial commission was issued on August 24, while it began its proceedings on August 27.
The Sindh Home Department had initially directed the commission to complete its proceedings within one month.
