Ciara, the Grammy-winning singer and wife of NFL quarterback Russell Wilson, has humorously addressed her husband’s public “campaign” for baby number five.

Wilson, who recently signed with the New York Giants, has been publicly suggesting on Instagram that he and Ciara expand their family. However, the R&B singer is not quite on board with the idea just yet.

Speaking to Access Hollywood, Ciara jokingly remarked, “Let me tell you, someone needs to take my husband’s phone right now, okay? Because he needs to stop, okay?” She added that Wilson’s suggestion for “Cinco” came shortly after their youngest child, Amora, was born. “That’s just disrespectful! Do you know what I just went through right now with this?” she quipped, acknowledging the challenge of pregnancy and childbirth.

Despite the lighthearted comments, Ciara isn’t too upset by Wilson’s playful requests. “He is so funny,” she said, acknowledging his ongoing “campaign” for a fifth child. “The people are following Rus; they’re all team Rus,” she joked, noting that his suggestion had gathered a lot of support from fans.

Wilson’s comments about having a fifth child date back to last October when he responded to a post by Ciara in a leather outfit, stating, “We can call him Cinco.” More recently, the quarterback posted again, joking under a video of Ciara at Trinidad and Tobago’s Carnival celebration, saying, “Cinco goin’ to be on di way!”

This isn’t the first time Wilson has publicly asked Ciara for more children. In 2022, he appeared on Ellen and requested, “one more [kid], at least.”

Ciara, 39, is already a mother of four. She shares one child, Future Zahir, 10, from a previous relationship and three children with Wilson: Sienna Princess, 7; Win Harrison, 4; and Amora Princess, 16 months. The couple married in 2016 after a year of dating.
