At least 10 people lost their lives and nine others sustained injuries early Tuesday morning when a speeding trailer ran over a Peshawar-bound passenger van on the Indus Highway in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Karak district, police and rescue officials confirmed.
According to Rescue 1122 spokesperson Muhammad Asif, multiple passengers were trapped inside the mangled van following the crash. Emergency responders retrieved the victims and rushed them to the District Headquarters Hospital in Karak. Those with critical injuries were later referred to medical facilities in Peshawar for advanced treatment.
